Mound near Rodney, MI

Published to the Federal Register on September 11, 2020. These ancestors were returned to the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians on November 16, 2020.

Accession 2877

On an unknown date, human remains were discovered and removed from "Indian mound". During October 1965, R. Leverette, a local resident, donated the remains to the Michigan State University Museum.

AFO = 0

This individual was originally listed as being in Grand Traverse County, or maybe Leelanau County with an MNI = 4 and AFO = 0. Further research located the original accession record, which indicated that the correct county of origin was Mecosta County. The 2019/2020 inventory update is amending this listing as coming from Mecosta County, as well as an MNI = 5 and AFO = 0.
