20CA16, Duck Lake Mound

This ancestor was returned to the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi on December 15, 2020.

On an unknown date, human remains were removed from a mound by an unknown individual. An unknown individual then transferred the remains to the Chamberlain Memorial Museum, which was located in Three Oaks, Michigan. In 1916, the Chamberlain Memorial Museum was founded by Mr. Edward K. Warren. Mr.
Warren named the Museum after Henry Chamberlain, his father‐in‐law. In September of 1952, Michigan State College Museum (now the Michigan State University Museum) acquired the contents of the Chamberlain Memorial Museum from Fred P. Warren, President of the Board of Trustees of the E. K. Warren Foundation.
