North Dakota

However, as it is unclear how that affiliation was determined, we are happy to consult over all the objects and correct any of the cultural affiliations. 

Mandan

We have 8 objects, all listed as bone implements, linked to the Mandan. These were all collected in Morton County, North Dakota.

"Sioux"

We have 12 objects with an affiliation listed as "Sioux". These include an arrow with a metal head, a doeskin women's dress, catlinite pipe bowl, wooden pie stem bound with natural red and blue porcupine quills (used ca. 1850), an antelope skin, painted rawhide strip, horn spook, leather draw string bag, necklace made of gold and clear seed beads, arrows, and a feathered bustle with a note attached reading "Sioux-Dakotahs Dance bustle! Bald eagle feathers-loreat horned owl-weasel fur-quillwork on feathers-red cloth-strouding from Stroud, Eng."

Plains

We have four objects that are listed as being affiliated with the "Plains Indians" only. These include a double curved bow, wooden spears, and a weighted object covered in red cloth and beads, believed to be a game.

Yet to be Culturally Affiliated

The following objects are listed as from North Dakota, but have not yet been linked to a Tribe or group: several bows, several arrows, seed bead necklaces, ear pendant made of leather strips and shells, beaded bracelet, beaded purse, pipe and tobacco bag, knife scabbard, broad cloth cuffs, and several pairs of moccasins.
