Florida
We have 39 objects in the collections listed as from Florida. We have identified 12 of these as likely funerary objects, which include an alligator tooth, fish scales, shell plummet, ceramics and shells from various mounds in Manatee, Escambia, and Pinellas Counties.
Other objects include a celt, shell effigies/figurines, stone pipe, shell pendants and plummets, shell chisels and gouges, a shell scoop, and several dolls and a blouse and skirt.
While many of the other objects are from Florida more generally, we do have a few objects from each of the following counties: Miami-Dade, Gadsden, Saint Johns counties.
